Pay attention to the quality of galvanizing. For ordinary Chinese and Ukrainian welded meshes, it is approximately the same.
The specific density of zinc on the surface of the grids is equal to the density of zinc on the wire from which they are made: approximately 50 g/m2.
But at the welded mesh Kazachka, due to the fact that the already welded mesh is passed through the zinc melt, the density of zinc is 130-270 g/m2. This layer provides increased resistance to corrosion. In addition, the weakest area for corrosion is the welding spot. At the welded grid of the Kazachka, it is covered with a thicker layer of zinc.

The quality of welded meshes affects the price. Therefore, ordinary welded meshes of Ukrainian and Chinese production have approximately the same cost, and the price of a Kazachka welded mesh with increased corrosion protection is higher.
Analysis of the quality of welded meshes of Chinese and Ukrainian
1. Cell sizes.
Comparison of the quality of welded meshes showed that the mesh size of Ukrainian, Chinese and Russian manufacturers corresponds to the declared one.
2. Quality of welding.
Periodically, but rarely, we encountered a lack of penetration of the longitudinal wire in the fabric from Russian manufacturers from the Moscow region, bought from one small Donetsk manufacturer, and were very dissatisfied with the quality of welding, especially at small diameters. The quality of welding on meshes, which are produced at large hardware plants, is excellent. The welding quality of Chinese welded mesh is very different, because there are many different manufacturers. We met rolls with continuous lack of penetration in the markets. The Chinese manufacturer "Achievement" - our supplier - produces mesh with excellent welding quality. In the photo below, a worker of this factory checks the quality of welding on 100% of the surface. He discovered lack of penetration, and is now going with an electrode, which he holds in his right hand to weld unwelded wires.
3. Wire diameter.
This is where miracles begin. In Mariupol, for the experiment, they bought the cheapest welded mesh in Ukraine 12.5 * 12.5 * 0.8 from the well-known Mariupol company "******". Weight should be 17.46, but in fact 5.9 kg. Weight is 2.9 times less than it should be!!! We make measurements of the diameter and get a diameter of 0.45 mm. In response to our claims, the Mariupol craftsmen refused to return the money. Perfect scam!!! The amount is small, it does not fall under the article on fraud and suing for 200-300 UAH is more expensive than just forgetting that you were deceived. Naturally, we did not sue because of a few hundred hryvnia. After all, we bought this roll in order to activate the advantage of the welded mesh of the Chinese manufacturer "Achievement", which has been supplying us with high-quality welded mesh since 2006, and we have already thoroughly worked out the quality assurance of these welded meshes.
This mesh is sold not by the Chinese, but by the Ukrainians . It's a shame, of course... But still, today there is a situation on the market when welded meshes from Chinese and most Ukrainian manufacturers are sold with a minus tolerance. This means that the label indicates a wire with a diameter of 2 mm, but in fact, it is 1.9. It is written 0.9 mm, but in fact there is 0.85, or even 0.82 mm. These are statistics of measurements when buying from the best sellers. If you buy from those who offer the cheapest prices, then instead of 25.4 * 25.4 * 1.6 you can get a grid of 25.4 * 25.4 * 1.4. And all this is due to the fact that according to the law this grid is not certified. The exception is the former hardware plants. They continue to produce it according to Soviet GOSTs and produce welded wire mesh with the minimum tolerances specified in GOSTs. But the buyer, seeing the same grid name, buys at a lower price, and rarely asks about the size matching.
4. Anticorrosive protection of welded meshes - the degree of galvanizing.
A very important property of welded meshes is the ability to resist corrosion. Corrosion protection is achieved by galvanizing or polymer coating. Galvanizing is more efficient. But many buyers tend to buy galvanized welded mesh at a lower price, without thinking about the amount of zinc on it. As a result, it begins to rust while still in stock.
There are two main methods of galvanizing in the world: hot galvanizing and electrolytic galvanizing.
In hot-dip galvanizing , the mesh or wire is dipped into the zinc melt. A thick layer of zinc remains on the metal.
In electrolytic galvanizing, a wire or mesh is immersed in a solution of zinc salts and a layer of zinc is electrolytically deposited on the surface. As soon as the metal is covered with the thinnest layer of zinc, the electrolytic reaction is weakened, so it is difficult to achieve a large thickness of zinc with the electrolytic method.
There are two ways to weld mesh:
galvanizing the wire, and then welding the rods (the amount of zinc on the mesh corresponds to the amount of zinc on the galvanized wire)
welding of rods, and then immersion in zinc melt. It differs from the first method in that the welding points are galvanized (the amount of zinc on the hot-dip galvanized mesh is greater than the amount of zinc on the wire due to the thickening of zinc at the welding points).
The specific gravity of zinc on the surface is measured in grams per square meter (g / m 2) :
- welded from electrolytically galvanized wire approx. 10 g/ m2
- welded and then electrolytically galvanized approx. 20 g/ m2
- welded from hot-dip galvanized wire approx. 50 g/ m2
- welded, and then hot-dip galvanized up to 130 g/m 2 .
Under normal conditions, zinc reacts with the atmosphere at a rate of 7 g/m 2 per year; in an aggressive environment, the rate of zinc loss increases by 2-5 times. An aggressive environment is considered to be: terrain polluted by factory emissions, proximity to acid fumes, acid rain, sea coast and coastal zone, humid climate. You can easily calculate how much time will pass before the appearance of rust on your welded mesh.
We have a certified device for instant measurement of zinc thickness on a galvanized surface, so we can quickly control the quality of galvanizing in incoming batches of galvanized welded mesh. Large hardware factories have laboratories for chemical determination of zinc, other suppliers supply it without objective data on the amount of zinc on their mesh. They don't cheat customers. They just don't know how much zinc is on their mesh.

5. Tricks with the weight of the welded mesh.
When comparing the prices of our suppliers, we always specify the weight of the roll. Many manufacturers do not always have a wire diameter corresponds to what is stated in the title. In the same roll there are wires of larger and smaller diameters. The main method of control in this case is to control the weight of the roll. Therefore, if the price is important to you, then you should compare the weight of the roll along with the method of production of the welded mesh .
