Instructions have been issued regarding the use of a diagonal stroke when documents are signed by a substitute specialist.

<p>When a responsible official is temporarily replaced, a diagonal line is often drawn next to their job title, and the document is signed by the person appointed as the substitute.<br /> As it turns out, this diagonal line serves as a clue for regulatory authorities, indicating which document should be deemed invalid.</p> <p>The procedure for formatting the "Signature" element is defined by the national standard DSTU 4163:2020, "State Unified Documentation System. Unified System of Organizational and Administrative Documentation. Requirements for Document Formatting," approved by Order No. 144 of the State Enterprise "UkrNDICh" dated July 1, 2020.</p> <p>According to Section 5.22 of DSTU 4163:2020, the "Signature" element consists of:</p> <ul> <li>the job title of the person signing the document;</li> <li>the personal signature;</li> <li>the first name and surname of the person who signed the document.</li> </ul> <p>There is no mention of a diagonal line. The diagonal line is a business practice from the former USSR.
