The most important thing in any war is to save the lives of your soldiers.
Therefore, today, throughout Ukraine, checkpoints and bastions of concrete blocks and sandbags are being set up on the roads. It takes a long time to build such bastions, and a sandbag will not always protect against a heavy machine gun or RPG.
The military needs fast-moving mobile checkpoints that can be quickly assembled and will provide serious protection against bullets, shells, grenade launchers and even against tanks.
Different variants of such checkpoints made of concrete began to appear, and we decided to supply sections for mobile bastions made of wire, geotextile and sand.
This is a checkpoint Kazachka.
The idea was taken from the world-famous Hesco-bastion (Hesco bastions), which were actively used in Iraq and Afghanistan. In fact, these are welded mesh gabions .
A similar fortification structure, like Hesco in the form of a mobile mobile checkpoint, can be erected within an hour in an open field without equipment, and even faster with the help of an excavator or other equipment. The frame of the Kazachka bastion is formed within a few minutes. It moves apart like an accordion.
To do this, it is enough to expand light structures from sections of welded galvanized mesh , in the middle of which there are fabric walls.
Soldiers quickly throw everything they have at hand into these mobile checkpoints made of wire: sand, clay, soil, and get a powerful shaft that a bullet, shell and tank cannot pass through.
Even if a shell breaks a few wires in a bastion like Hesco, only a little sand will spill out and the barricade of mesh, cloth and sand will stand.
In order to further secure the mobile checkpoints of Kazachka , Kazachka's egoza can be installed on top of the barrage shaft.
Bastion Cossack as well as Hesco bastion has another invaluable property. Today, at checkpoints, in many cases, after duty, soldiers and officers are forced to sleep in tents.
You understand how a tent stops a bullet or shrapnel.
Now, within a few hours, walls of a meter thickness and 2.7 meters high can be erected on the basis of the Kazachka checkpoint, covered with a roof, even from a tarpaulin, and the fighters receive a reliable shelter for sleeping and resting after guard or duty.

Bastion Kazachka consists of a wire mesh with a wire diameter of 4-5 mm.
The wire can be galvanized, but to speed up production it can be made from non-galvanized wire.
At the same time, you need to know that non-galvanized wire can rust for 6-8 years, and galvanized wire will last 20 years.
But, given that the period of centenary wars is over, then, most likely, the military will use non-galvanized welded mesh, which quickly rusts.
- Welded mesh cells for the Kazachka checkpoint have a size of 70 to 90 mm, depending on the type.
- Section height from 0.6 to 2.7 m.
- The section base area is from 0.6x0.6 m to 2.13x2.13 m.
Bastion Cossack is produced in Zaporozhye and comes in a set of several sections connected together in such a way that two sections have one middle wall.
The walls of the sections are connected by a wire twisted in the form of a spring.
Approximately the same connect sections of gabions.
The front and rear walls of the sections of the checkpoint Kazachka are made of two identical parts in width equal to 1/2 of the width of the side walls.
Such a device allows you to transport checkpoints Kazachka in a flat state.
Thus, the defenders of the fatherland get the opportunity to quickly mount checkpoints to control movement on the roads and quickly move these checkpoints to another site.
Alternative ways to make mobile checkpoints
Need for inventions is cunning - it's about us.
Since Hesco bastion is a very expensive pleasure, in Ukraine, volunteers began to produce analogues of Kazachka checkpoints under various names.
We will not hide the fact that we often buy welded mesh sections and connecting spirals for them.
Often, for the production of mobile checkpoints, they buy an ordinary masonry mesh with thick wire (mesh for reinforcement) 1x2 m in size, if necessary, cut it in half and mount mobile fortification barriers from these wire sections.
Another alternative to Hesco baston is the formation of sections from reinforcement with a grid of Chain-link 10x1.2 and 10x1.4 stretched over it.

The price of the Kazachka bastion for checkpoints and protection of military personnel can be different, depending on the diameter of the wire, galvanizing, height, etc.
For example, a Cossack bastion 1.5 m high made of non-galvanized wire with a diameter of 5 mm will cost 900 UAH/linear meter, and the price of the same barrier made of galvanized wire with a diameter of 4 mm and a height of 1.4 mm will cost a little less than 700 UAH per linear meter. meter.

Similar products in Ukraine began to be produced through cooperation in August 2014 (prices at the beginning of September 2014).
Volunteers bought for their own money bastions made of welded mesh, which are not in service in the Ukrainian army, and sent them for testing to the 79th brigade in the ATO zone.
