Raw materials for manufacturing and a brief technology for the production of screw nails

The raw material for the production of helical nails is low-carbon steel rod.
Steel grade: St0M, St1KP (PS), St3KP (PS, SP).
Rolled wire is used to produce round unannealed wire with a diameter of 2.5, 3.0, 3.4, 3.5 and 3.9 mm in accordance with GOST 3282-74.
Further, the wire on the nailing machines is turned into smooth nails.
Wire nails are cleaned in tumbling drums.

After that, they are turned into twisted screw nails on thread-rolling machines.

If necessary, they are coated with a layer of zinc in galvanized units to protect against corrosion.

Benefits of screw nails

The joint strength of screw nails is 4 times higher than that of smooth nails. When extracting, it is necessary to overcome not only the friction force along the axis, but also in the direction of rotation.
They don't break. Compared to ruffed nails, long screw nails break less when driven.
No need to hit at an angle. An ordinary wire nail must be hammered at an angle so that the fastening does not loosen. This can lead to displacement of the fastened parts. Screw nails can be hammered perpendicular to the surface of the fastened part.
