The minimum thickness of asphalt in the case of using a road grid is 4.5 cm, while the installation of two-layer pavements using dense asphalt concrete is recommended; the cost of a layer of reinforced asphalt concrete pavement with a thickness of 75 mm is not higher than the cost of an unreinforced pavement with a thickness of 95 mm (in the latter, however, the number of cracks is 5 times greater); in case of minor damage to the base of the pavement, the road mesh can only be laid over seams or cracks with a strip width of 90-120 cm, the road mesh is stretched after unfolding, and then attached to the base of the pavement with steel nails .
It is desirable that the road mesh for reinforcing the layers of asphalt concrete pavements be supplied in cards with a length equal to the width of the pavement, in transport racks.
