The check is carried out in places with the greatest deviations, but not less than in three places and not closer than 20 mm from the edges.
The arithmetic average size of the side of the cell in the light (a) for the base and for the weft is determined by the formula
where for grid numbers 004-056:
l is the length of the section on which sequentially counted cells are located, equal to:
for mesh numbers 004-0063 - 2 mm,
for mesh numbers 0071-014 - 5 mm,
for mesh numbers 016-056 - 10 mm;
n is the number of cells sequentially counted in a section of length l ,
d is the wire diameter, mm;
for grid numbers 063-1;
l is the length of the section on which 30 cells sequentially counted in the corresponding direction are located, mm;
n is the number of sequentially counted cells, equal to 30;
d is the wire diameter, mm;
for grid numbers 1.25-2.5:
l is the length of the section on which 20 sequentially counted cells are located, mm;
n is the number of sequentially counted cells, equal to 20;
d is the wire diameter, mm.
The length of the section and the count of the number of cells are measured with a microscope:
for mesh numbers 004-0063 - at a magnification of 30-40x;
for grid numbers 0071-014 - at a magnification of 24-40x;
for mesh numbers 016-056 - with a textile magnifying glass at a magnification of 7-10x according to GOST 25706-83 or another equivalent tool;

4.6. The diameter of the wire is measured before threading on the loom.
A wire with a diameter of 0.03-0.10 mm is checked with an optimeter with a scale division of 0.001 mm or another equivalent instrument, with a diameter of 0.11-0.5 mm - with an MP 25 lever micrometer according to GOST 4381-80.
4.7. The width of the mesh is checked in three places of the mesh segment at a distance of at least 50 mm from its ends and in the middle, with a measuring ruler with a division value of 1 mm in accordance with GOST 427-75.
4.8. The length of the mesh segment is measured with a measuring ruler with a division value of 1 mm according to GOST 427-75.
