Rodents are carriers of many microorganisms and viruses that are dangerous to humans. In the Middle Ages, pests carried the plague across Europe, and now they can reward an imprudent host with tuberculosis, rabies, worms, infections of the digestive system and many other diseases. You can become infected not only by contact with a rodent, but also by contact of a person or food with traces of an animal.
In addition, rodents spoil furniture, exterior and interior decoration of the house, destroy electrical wiring, have an unpleasant odor, and create noise.
There are several ways to protect your homeen from rodents.
The first, most often, people choose poison or various traps. However, rats and mice are quite cunning and smart animals. They smell traps, recognize poison and bypass them. If one of the flock is poisoned, then his fellow tribesmen will know the smell and will no longer be caught. In addition, you can not use poison in a house with animals and children. The expulsion of rodents from the homeen turns into a real fight, for a rat for life, and for a person for physical and moral health.
To win the war against pests before it starts, you need to cut off all possible ways for the rodent to enter the house.
Use of metal mesh for rodent protection
In order to block the passage of the rodent into the dwelling, use a metal mesh. Rats and mice can destroy wood, plastic, glass wool, but metal is too tough for them. In order for the external metal protection of the house to last longer, we recommend taking a galvanized mesh. Zinc coating of metal significantly slows down its corrosion. The size of the mesh cell is also important, if the animal's skull passes, then its entire body will pass. Therefore, the cell size should be no more than 15 mm.
Metal mesh from rodents has several advantages:

It is most correct to provide a grid from rodents when building a house. In this case, for walls, you can use a plaster non- galvanized woven mesh with a cell of 5 mm, dm. wire 0.7-1mm. Anti-corrosion coating is not required, because. the mesh will not come into contact with air and moisture. Also, the grid must be installed under the floor, beat the roof and the corners of the building. If it is known that the building is located in an area where hordes of rats, mice and moles live, then it is worth trimming the outer walls with a metal mesh and burying the mesh around the house to a depth of 1 m.
If such a problem has already appeared in the finished dwelling, and a protective mesh is not provided, you need to protect all openings that lead to the house.

To protect the crop from moles, only a metal mesh is suitable, which is buried in the ground before planting seedlings to a depth of 5-10 cm. To protect the soil layer and the house from the intervention of rodents, it is necessary that the mesh wraps the soil layer around the house to a depth of 1m, and then passes into the soil cover at a depth of about 10cm.
