Annealed wire less than 1.0 mm in diameter
Heat-treated hot-dip galvanized wire with a diameter of less than 1.0 mm with a tensile strength of 360-400 N/mm2 was previously produced at the Zaporozhye Steel Rolling Plant.
The plant has been closed since 2013.
As a replacement, we supply heat-treated electroplated thin wire (up to 30 g/m2 zinc).
This thin wire is produced using a different technology, so it will be somewhat harder than steel rolling.
- Galvanizing method: electrolytic (zinc surface density up to 30g/m2).
- Tensile strength: 440-470 N/ mm2 (requirement of GOST 3282-74: 340-540 N/ mm2 ).

General information about thin galvanized wire

- Fine wire 0.3-0.5 mm is sold in coils of 1-5 kg in oiled paper.

On the market today there is an annealed wire of small diameters produced from wire of large diameters by drawing on drawing benches.
It differs from the wire we supply in two essential characteristics:
1. Part of the zinc is lost during the drawing process, so the density of zinc on thin low-carbon wire will be closer to electrolytically galvanized wire. In practice, this means that it will begin to rust earlier.
2. In the process of drawing, the upper layer of the wire is deformed, compressed, compacted, therefore, such a wire becomes more springy, steely. When we did not have time to make factory-made galvanized wire, manufacturers of wreaths and artificial flowers took it for testing. The test was negative. They asked us, in the future, to supply fine wire of factory quality. As they explained, after tightening the wire, although thin, does not wrap well around the frames.
Fine annealed wire is used in various industries
- They make a woven mesh from it, use it in beekeeping, clog champagne with thin wire and insulate cables. Thin wire is used in mechanical engineering for tying parts, steel spinners and jig for fishermen.
- For the manufacture of stuffed birds, a thin wire with a diameter of 0.25-0.5 mm is used. To do this, it is straightened on the edge of the board and cut into pieces of a length corresponding to the bird's carcass. Masters know what to do next.
- Sometimes annealed steel thin wire is used instead of clamps to secure the ends of steel ropes.
- Another use of thin wire is in horticulture - it is used to make trellises for growing cucumbers.
- Fine wire is used in beekeeping, namely, to strengthen the foundation and give the combs greater strength when building frames. The basic rule is that the thinner the wire, the better. It is recommended to buy wire up to 0.4mm, because. if a thicker wire passes through the honeycombs, then the bees do not seal them. The thin wire for the frames serves as a reinforcing agent so that the honeycombs do not fall out of the frames. Fine wire for beekeeping is sold both in coils and specially rewound on coils.
- For laying the " sealing wire " use two wires of the same or different diameters of 0.8 mm, 0.7 mm, 0.6 mm, 0.5 mm, 0.4 mm, 0.3 mm.
