The real story of buying low-quality wire.
Read methods and quality of galvanizing . Recently, a well-known wire merchant approached us. He offered us to buy galvanized wire from them instead of the factory wire, and the price was offered a little lower than the factory one.
Who will refuse?
We decided to bargain, maybe even lower the price, but at the same time, we decided to give their wire to the laboratory.
Even before the laboratory, we saw that this wire is softer than unannealed wire and harder than heat-treated wire.
This is a clear sign of Chinese wire. But we know that in China they produce wire of any quality, including good quality.
Usually, if they say that Chinese products are worthless, then these are unsuitable Ukrainian suppliers of these products, who, in pursuit of a low price, order quality corresponding to a low price.
We ourselves supply a part of the metal mesh from China and cannot get a competitive price for high-quality wire from our suppliers. We always get the entry price in Ukraine at the level of that offered by domestic producers. Therefore, they were surprised by the offer of cheap wire.
There are no miracles in the world. The results of the analysis showed that at a rate of 70 g/m2 of zinc (as required by GOST 6282-74 ), this wire had 7-10 g/m2. This wire became rusty after the first exposure to a damp environment.
They know how to do it! Before analysis, at first glance, this wire seemed to be of excellent quality.
About the quality of Ukrainian non-factory-made wire.
Not everything is in order with the quality of domestic wire manufacturers.
We took a wire sample from one of the new manufacturers and gave it to the laboratory. The amount of zinc corresponds to the norm, mechanical properties are also within the limits of GOST.
But, with several kinks, in places of kinks, zinc began to peel off from this wire. Of course, this wire cannot be categorically used in the production of chain- link mesh . If you buy a chain-link mesh from this wire, then after a while it will begin to rust on the bends. Here is the answer to the question: "How to determine the quality of galvanized wire."
Advice to wholesale buyers of the chain-link mesh.
If you want to have a high-quality chain-link mesh, if you don’t want deceived buyers to start spreading defamatory information about you in a few years, ask your supplier what kind of wire the chain-link mesh is made of.
If this is not a factory wire, then we advise you to check the presence of zinc in the laboratory, and carefully look at the bends of the spiral: if the coating has changed its color in this place - a sure sign of the beginning of zinc peeling.
We are ready to assist you in the laboratory analysis of the galvanized coating.
