How to Choose Razor Wire (Egoza)
Twisted vs Clipped
Razor wire is manufactured using two types of reinforced barbed tape:
- Reinforced Barbed Tape - Twisted. The barbed tape is twisted around the core wire.

- Reinforced Barbed Tape . The barbed tape is swaged (pressed) onto the core wire. Kazachka® razor wire is made using this technology.

Twisted vs Clipped.
- Easy to disassemble: the tape can be separated from the core wire.
- The tape is easily cut with standard scissors.
- Core wire without barbed tape does not effectively prevent intrusion.
- High windage (wind resistance), making it difficult to use with alarm sensors.
We recommend purchasing razor wire only made from swaged reinforced barbed tape .
Connection of Razor Wire Spiral Coils
To correctly choose razor wire, you should know that despite being a high-security product, it has a weak point — the coil connection.
- If wire clips or thin metal strips are used to connect the coils, they can be easily pried open with fingers or pliers.

- If the clip is a flat galvanized tape with a thickness of 1.5 mm or more, it is extremely difficult to disconnect without injury. Therefore, you should only buy razor wire with such flat galvanized clips. In Ukraine, these reliable connections are used on Kazachka TM razor wire.

Razor Wire Price per Linear Meter
Do not focus on the price per linear meter when buying razor wire. The reason is shown in the photo below. The price of the razor wire in the first and second photos is the same. However, the linear meter in the first photo will be cheaper because the distance between the coils was increased during installation, which reduces security.

Offering a price per linear meter without specifying the number of coils is a trick. Always clarify the price per roll and the number of coils in it.
Do Not Buy Substandard Products
We do not recommend buying razor wire reinforced with low-carbon wire: it is easily cut with snips or pliers, deforms easily, and corrodes much faster than high-carbon wire.
Number of Clips per Coil Circumference
Recommendations: for 450mm diameter — 3 clips, 600-900mm — 5 clips, 1100mm — 7 clips. This ensures wind resistance and the overall reliability of the barrier.

How Many Rolls Should I Buy?
To calculate, divide the total perimeter length by the desired coil step (we recommend 34-35 cm for 450-600 mm razor wire).
This will give you the number of coil pairs for the installation length.
Multiply the resulting number by 2 (as a pair consists of 2 coils).
Divide this number by the total number of coils in a roll to get the required number of razor wire rolls.
